{travel diaries} Kayaking Ha Long Bay

One of my favorite experiences on our Vietnam trip was kayaking around Ha Long Bay. We only were out on the kayaks for about 45 minutes, but it was great to get a view of the bay and the floating houses from low in the water.

I was hesitant to agree to kayaking in the first place, since Minh and I only had the clothes on our backs for the first few days in Vietnam. But we really couldn’t pass it up, and I’m glad we decided to brave the waters. I managed to keep the splashing to a minimum, and only ended up with slightly wet pants.

We made our way into a few “caves” along the islands.. ok not really caves, more like coves. It was still really cool.
