Paris, je t’aime

Earlier in June, Minh and I headed out for a weekend in Paris. This was our second time to Paris since being over here in the UK (having gone last year for our first anniversary). We did most of the big tourist stuff (Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, catacombes, etc. ) during that trip, along with a lot of patisseries and other good food. This time around, my touristy goals were to visit The Chateau Versailles, The Sacré-Cœur Basilica, and Napoleon’s Tomb, as well as see the Eiffel Tower light up at night.  Other than that, we were more or less free to do whatever we wanted, so we added in some additional touristy stuff and ate good food.

The Food (some of it)

Overall, it was a good trip. Much less stressful when you plan for a few big things to visit, and then just go with the flow for the rest of the time. One of the cool things we encountered was a double light show on Sunday evening. After we had watched the Eiffel Tower twinkle for 10 minutes, we turned to head back to the metro station.. only to find a lightning storm rolling in. We stayed and watched the lightning for a good twenty minutes, and got some good shots while we were out. Two light shows in one night!
