I will honestly say that I expected so much more from Mont Saint-Michel than what we got. Maybe it was the day or the crowds, but I was really expecting to be in awe of this place.
Don’t get me wrong, it was still pretty cool. But I really was expecting an island church fortress rising out of the sea. This tide was out and there’s always work going on on these tourist attractions, so we got a scaffolding fortress rising out of the mud and sand. But, we made the most of it and got a nice tour of the abbey as well.
Still a nice place to visit if you’re in the area… But I wouldn’t make a special detour for it. Unless, of course, its on your bucket list. Then., by all means…
